![]() IT HAD ABOUT 50 LBS OF COMPRESSION IN ALL THE HOLES. I WAS GOING TO [PULL THE ENGINE AND USE IT IN ANOTHER PROJECT, THATS WHY THE MOUNTS ARE OFF. THE APPROX VINTAGE ON THE ENGINE IS 1945 / 1946. I THINK THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TEN YEARS OLDER THAN THE BOAT. THE BOAT HAS A GRAY MARINE SEA SCOUT 91 ENGINE. TRAILER WILL ROLL BUT I DO NOT CONSIDER IT BY ANY MEANS A ROADABLE TRAILER. I AM SELLING MY CHRIS CRAFT 15 FOOT RUNABOUT PROJECT. PLEASE HELP SAVE THIS PIECE OF MARINE HISTORY. BOAT AND TRAILER ONLY! TRUCK NOT INCLUDED! I AS GOING TO FIX IT BUT I JUST CAN'T GET TO IT. THIS IS A NON COMPLETE PROJECT BOAT AND WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. TRAILER WILL ROLL BUT IT IS ROTTED AND NOT ROAD WORTHY. IMHO THE MAIN STRUCTURE IS STILL SOLID BUT SOME MAYBE ALL OF THE PLYWOOD NEEDS REPLACED. THE HULL SKIN NEEDS TO BE REDONE IN PLACES. I DID NOT TRY TO START THE ENGINE AS I NEVER GOT TO PULLING THE OIL PAN. I BORROWED THE DISTRIBUTOR FROM THE MODEL 70. ![]() I WAS GOING TO TRY AND GET THE ENGINE STARTED. I CLEANED MOST OF IT OUT OF THERE, BUT THERE IS STILL SOME LEFT THAT I COULD NOT REACH. WOULD BE ABOUT THE RIGHT VINTAGE AND SIZE ENGINE FOR THE BOAT :) THE SEA SCOUT THAT IS IN THE BOAT IS FREE AND HAS COMPRESSION BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND PULLING IT OUT AND REMOVING THE OIL PAN AS SOME A**HOLE STOLE THE DISTRIBUTOR AND A MOUSE WENT DOWN THE HOLE AND BUILT A NEST. I HAVE AN EXTRA GRAY MARINE MODEL 70 I MIGHT PART WITH FOR SOME EXTRA $$$. THE ENGINE IS A LITTLE TO SMALL AND OLD SO I WOULD ASSUME THE ENGINE IS NOT CORRECT. THE ENGINE IS A SEA SCOUT 91 THAT DATES TO 1946. THIS IS A TRUE INBOARD WITH A FOUR CYLINDER GRAY MARINE ENGINE. HI, UP FOR SALE TODAY IS MY VERY ROUGH CHRIS CRAFT CAVALIER PROJECT. Reason for selling is not using at this time. Also the ignition switch was vandalized and removed, so unable to turn over the engine, please be aware when submitting your offer. Can not include a water trial as part of the inspection. The seller advised due to the prep with the hull and this boat not been in the water for a few seasons. The forward sport light will need to be re-installed but is present and the original. The vessel is equipped with the soaker hose that allows for water to be run through-out the hull to allow the wood planks to swell to give the watertight seal. The seller understands this vessel will need some TLC to bring back to full glory. The seller has set the price point almost half of what similar vessels in this age and size have been sold for. Direct drive with shaft and bronze propeller. The vessel is powered by the original engine MBL Inboard that produces 158HP. ![]() Looking for a piece of history, 1955 Chris-Craft Capri 21, which is the rarer version than the smaller option that Chris-Craft built. Original Thunderbolt engine, Mahogany Wood. The bottom and seams would be do for caulking and sanding. The exterior was shiny, there are areas that could use some TLC with finish. The interior, cushion, bench seats were in very nice condition free from any wear or tears. The local and visiting consultant was really impressed having the opportunity to see this listing in person. ![]()
